Description:

Cut-out steel panel. The panel is set up on the banks of the river, near the edge of the water. The openings create the word "Fleuve" ("River"). One can see the water through the openings.

The work was created for the first Salon international de sculpture extérieure de Montréal (July 9 to September 7, 1992). The theme of the event was "Aux quatre vents" ("Blowing in the wind").

History:

During installation, there were no traces of 350 around the sculpture. In 2000, these traces have been replaced by two trails. The cedars that had initially taken place between the words were replaced by groves of grass and dogwood. These changes are designed to adapt the work to climatic conditions and ensure conservation. The artwork was carried out for the first International Exhibition of outdoor sculpture of Montreal (SISEM), which took place from July 9 to Sept. 7, whose theme was "For the four winds" in the celebrations of the 350^th anniversary of the Foundation of Montreal. At his installation in Lachine, this sculpture had three hundred and fifty footsteps of made no concrete colorful suggesting the movement of passengers. They were replaced in 2000 by two trails.
