Description:

On the ground floor, round and square pictorial artworks as well as a few birds constitute the signage to the next floors.

Level 1:

The square shape represents the idea of home. Pictorial works show luminous clouds, an ethereal sky, reflections on water or the sea. Aluminium squares featuring an engraved poem are also inlcuded and a pictorial work runs along a glass box that houses a bird's nest.

Level 2:

Round paintings and aluminium circles featuring an engraved poem run along the corridors.

Note(s):

"The poem introduces the space of dream and, gradually, the reader turns into a bird": Agnès Riverin.
The artist had the mandate of creating a journey in the corridors of the first and second floors. The artwork also had to include signage. The square was chosen for the first floor and the circle, for the second floor.

Description:

A bronze table is installed in the indoor garden. Small amounts of colours have been sprinkled onto it. Under each colour, a verb in the infinitive is engraved directly into the tabletop. A wall near this table is pierced with a bronze-coloured mullioned window, through which one can see a view of the outdoor garden. Outside, a bronze vase lies on a block of blue granite and lets a trickle of water drip on the ground. The block appears with two smaller blocks.

Description:

The art work consists of an upward spiral made of cut out letters attached to a metallic strip. The work runs through the curtain wall next to the main entrance. Yellow and pink letters form words both indoors and outdoors.

In the waiting room, two sentences are affixed to a metallic strip. Each sentence appears in the upper part of the two interior white walls facing each other. The sentences continue on the exterior brick walls.

In the kids' room, a photograph features a mountain landscape. Words and letters are disseminated all over the surface of the photograph and on each side.

The thirteen artists participating in Artefact 2004 – Urban Sculpture are Monique Bertrand, Martin Boisseau, Ani Deschênes, Doyon-Rivest, André Du Bois, Lucie Duval, Raymond Gervais, Michel Goulet, Neva-Gotthilf, Daniel Olson, Yannick Pouliot, Alan Storey and Louise Viger. Their artworks were installed along the carriage road, Chemin Olmsted, between the Centre de la montagne — near the 1964 symposium — and the large chalet at the lookout. Some works were imposing, others more discreet but all were presented as imaginary places likely to appeal to visitors.
