First, a polychromic mosaic on the ground represents a gridded map of the world, where continents are shown as aquatic masses and the oceans as continents. Second, brass words are inlaid into the mosaic - Pacifica, Atlantica, Indica, Arctica. Third, suspended to the ceiling, a mirror crescent moon reflects the image of the Earth and hides a globe in its upper section. A square plate seems to jump out of one of the drawers. Numbers 1 to 16 appear on it. A grille is superimposed onto this plate, evoking the graphic marker used by printers to make printed characters legible. The shadows created by the numbers move on the wall according to the time of day, in the way of a sundial. A stainless steel alphabet is laid out on the rear of the wall. The hanging sculpture is a reproduction of a maple tree samara. A plaque shaped like a wild cherry tree leaf is embedded in the ground, while eight bronze low reliefs have been installed on the walls so as to allow students to touch them. Each of the low reliefs present a motif - milkweed, linden berries, a blackbird nest, an embryo, an oak acorn, a beech nut, a bean and a gentian leaf. Wings are added to these, flight devices associated with the act of ascending, like ladders. As the library is a place of discovery and knowledge, it is a window onto itself and the world, a concept that is also present in the artwork with its constant back and forth movement between the local and the universal. Thus, twenty-four glass panes present fragments of a text by a&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 13.3333px;">Dolbeau</span><span style="font-size: 13.3333px;">&nbsp;resident, while displaying the symbols of the Greek alphabet. In addition, binoculars are installed on a sculptural element evoking a globe's swivel pin. They can be used to look more closely at details of the work, but especially to take note of its final element, its treasure, a world atlas filled with knowledge.</span></p> </div> </div> </div> <div
