Dreaming on the banks of the Chaudière River

Artwork theme:

The artist was inspired by the geographical context of the city of Saint-Georges. Its urban development follows the curves of the Chaudière River which defines the landscape and punctuates the passage of time.

Note(s):

The artist favours a restrained colour palette to avoid overloading the environment. Water movements were painted in oil directly onto the wooden canvas in one sweeping gesture, creating an atmosphere that inspires calm and relaxation.

Description:

The artwork is divided into three parts. At the entrance, a short poem tells us that writing is the main attraction of the library. On another wall, there is a tondo and the sihouette of a windbreak.

Located in the old Marguerite D'Youville school, this library is for people of all ages. The artist was asked to make a work referring to the population and to library use.
