History

History:

During installation, there were no traces of 350 around the sculpture. In 2000, these traces have been replaced by two trails. The cedars that had initially taken place between the words were replaced by groves of grass and dogwood. These changes are designed to adapt the work to climatic conditions and ensure conservation. The artwork was carried out for the first International Exhibition of outdoor sculpture of Montreal (SISEM), which took place from July 9 to Sept. 7, whose theme was "For the four winds" in the celebrations of the 350^th anniversary of the Foundation of Montreal. At his installation in Lachine, this sculpture had three hundred and fifty footsteps of made no concrete colorful suggesting the movement of passengers. They were replaced in 2000 by two trails.

Description:

These five discs lying on the ground along the trails of Mount-Royal. These discs are hardly visible from afar, they are based sometimes with soil and leaves. In winter, they are imperceptible as covered with snow. It is difficult to detect, since there is no evidence to indicate the presence of the work. Text etched sandblasted on the surface. Most of the text is placed in concentric circles. Sometimes the text from the center of the circle and sometimes from the outside. Words or short forms are not in concentric circles but diagonals other sentences.
