     a wild growing meadow
                        the water’s edge

off shore
up river
Lake freighter passage
daily
down river
The Middletown
The Burns Harbour                with empty holds

The Belle River                with full holds

The Falkön                            carrying                   grain
      fuel
      coal
                   and various ores
…as to the destination of the cargo

coastal towns and other ports of entry

Is there anything that is not about moving
      Something from one place to another?

water’s uninterrupted flow
fire’s endless consumption
   during night

   overture on our own endless changes
    or day
to the west
six oil reservoirs painted stark white covered by the shade of trees at 7 pm

in between
sixteen markers painted while speaking of water and related tales

to the east
a night picture speaking of fire and its guardians
