
Rodrigo D'Alcântara (b. Rodrigo de Alcântara Barros Bueno - Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a visual artist, video-maker, and counter-hegemonic researcher. Currently, Rodrigo is a Ph.D. student in the Interuniversity Doctoral Program in Art History at Concordia University (Montreal, CA). He holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the School of Fine Arts of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) and a Bachelor's degree in Plastic Arts from the Universidade de Brasília (Brazil). Rodrigo works mainly with videoart, performance, and installation. His creative process takes place in a transdisciplinary and hybrid approach, bringing out syncretic, symbolic, dissident, and mythological narratives from contemporary times. In 2018, he received the Culture and Citizenship Award: LGBTI Culture from the Fund to support culture in the Federal District, Brasília. In his international trajectory, he has exhibited works in countries such as Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, among others.
