Dominique Maingueneau is professor of linguistics at the Faculty of French Language, at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. His research from the 1970s is focused on French linguistics and discourse analysis. He has published many books in the latter area of study since his Initiation aux méthodes de l'analyse du discours (Paris, Hachette, 1976); he co-edited a Dictionnaire d'analyse du discours (Paris, Seuil, 2002). His research associates a pragmatic outlook on discourse with linguistic "enunciation" theories and M. Foucault's Archeology. He is currently working on political discourse and "self-constituting discourses" (philosophical, religious, scientific, literary...), that legitimate the whole discursive production. Latest books: La philosophie comme institution discursive, 2015 ; Trouver sa place dans le champ littéraire. Paratopie et création, 2016. (http://dominique.maingueneau.pagesperso-orange.fr/)
