Artiste
Michael Mateas holds diplomas in Engineering Physics and Computer Science. He is associate professor in the department of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He has published many papers, and received in 2006 the Grand Prize at the Slamdance Indy Game Competition for Façade, which he designed with Andrew Stern. His essay entitled “Technologies for Interactive Digital Storytelling and Entertainment (TIDSE)” received the Best Paper Award in 2004. The artist is fascinated by the possibilities generated by the interaction of art, design and artificial intelligence.
