Acquisition method: Donation from the Mouvement des Québécois and Roger Langevin, by public fund-raising. Acquisition by the City of Montreal in 1990.

Quote from the artist: "Le personnage est sculptural. Il a la stature physique et mentale d’un Moïse. Il représente le Père (…) Il est 'debout', ses jambes texturées comme l'écorce soutiennent un corps puissant, torse bombé, main sur la hache, manteau sur l’épaule pour accentuer la masse supérieure du corps comme le volume généreux d’un feuillage en plein soleil."
