The artwork speculates on our culture's preoccupation with language and on the origins of form in typography and the influences on form in architecture.
The nature of language and its role in human perception.
History:
- The first artwork to be completed under the auspices of the City of Winnipeg’s public art policy, established in 2004.
- The competition took place in the fall of 2004.
- Created specifically for the Millennium Library in Winnipeg, which underwent an extensive renovation during 2004-2005.
- A seven-foot-high version was shown at the Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art in 2007.
- Versions small enough to fit in the palm of the hand also exist.
