Artwork identification
Located in the "Allée des huissiers" (Bailiffs' Alley)
The artwork is composed of three elements. Steel panels stand vertically on the floor. Marble plates are affixed to them in such a way as to evoke an open book. Each plate bears a signature in relief.

Jean-Baptiste Decoste
Jean de Saint-Père was Montreal's first clerk of the court and first notary, in 1648.
Michel Le Pailleur was a notary from 1701 to 1702.
Jean-Baptiste Decoste was a notary in 1732.
