The global body is an extension of the personal body, made of all the connections that each of one of us have, latent or in real time, with the world at large. It is experienced as a feeling, mostly as a background, like a hunch, a vague sense of stress. Terrorism has rendered more sensate, sensitive, our personal relationship with the world. Fear/anxiety is something you feel, not see. We are once again in an age of Angst. Reformatted by digitization, humanity, besides getting to know itself better (in a traumatic way), is going through two complementary changes: externalization of self in networks and bits, and internalization of the planet itself.  What we internalize is the aching of the planet within the personal body. Stress is internalized as global sensations. The vain attempt at throwing the blame on someone/something else is internalized and resurfaces as a still vague sense of responsibility. It matters little whether my images, deeds, various selves are scattered all over the networks, when everything has been said and done, it all comes back to that very real/present/physical body of mine. My body is my point of being, the origin of sensation where new sensibility/ethics begins.
