Le collectif Not the Dress réalise une transcréation de l'œuvre Olho por olho (œil pour œil) d’Augusto de Campos (1964). Le poème original donne à voir une pyramide d’images d'œil de personnages historiques ou contemporains dans laquelle se nichent, ici et là, des images de panneaux routiers - évoquant la situation politique brésilienne - ou des objets ayant une similarité formelle avec l'œil humain. Olho por olho active sa dimension critique en laissant dialoguer les images entre elles et en interrogeant la capacité de discernement de la regardeuse ou du regardeur.
Dans Image for image, les artistes ajoutent une dimension interactive à ce jeu sémantique en invitant les internautes à interroger et à nourrir une intelligence artificielle (réseaux antagonistes génératifs). Par le biais de trois téléversements d’images, les participantes et les participants construisent à leur tour une pyramide dont les liens formels et sémantiques sont déterminés ou plutôt, conjecturés par la machine. L’expérience esthétique et poétique est collaborative et constamment renouvelée. Ce faisant, l'œuvre actualise et radicalise la proposition de de Campos tout en exploitant la malléabilité des images et de leurs relations entre elles.

The collective Not the Dress presents a transcreation of Olho por olho (eye for an eye) by Augusto de Campos (1964). The original poem presents a pyramid of images of the eyes of historical or contemporary figures, in which images of road signs - alluding to the state of politics in Brazil - or objects with an ovular similarity to the human eye are nestled here and there. Olho por olho creates a dialogue between the images, questioning the viewer's capacity for discernment and thus opening space for a critical lens.
In Image for image, the artists add an interactive dimension to this semantic game by inviting Internet users to question and feed an artificial intelligence (generative adversarial network). By uploading three images, the participants build a pyramid whose formal and semantic links are determined or rather, conjectured by the machine. The aesthetic and poetic experience is collaborative and constantly renewed. In doing so, the work actualizes and radicalizes de Campos' proposal while exploiting the malleability of the images and their relationships to each other.

Em Image for image, as artistas acrescentam uma dimensão interativa a este jogo semântico, convidando as pessoas a interrogarem e alimentarem uma inteligência artificial (redes adversárias generativas). Ao subir imagens no sistema, os/as participantes constroem uma pirâmide cujas ligações formais e semânticas são determinadas, ou melhor, conjecturadas pela máquina. A experiência estética e poética é colaborativa e constantemente renovada. Ao fazer isso, o trabalho atualiza e radicaliza a proposta de Augusto de Campos, enquanto explora a maleabilidade das imagens e suas relações entre si.
